Your Listening Room is the Most Important Component in Your Stereo System

This statement is common knowledge to experienced audiophiles and recording engineers, but is often overlooked by music enthusiasts that want to improve their stereo systems. New speakers and components are important, but improving your listening room is often the best bet. The facts are, when you listen to a stereo system, you are 'listening' to the room at the same time. The sound coming from the speakers interacts with the walls, floors, ceiling and furnishings in the room to create its own unique sound. Room acoustics is a science, and understanding the basics of room acoustics and correct speaker placement will help you get a much better listening experience.
