Gary Altunian

About.com introduces Gary Altunian as a Guide for the Stereos site. Gary has a passion for music audio and home theater and has a lifelong career in the consumer electronics industry.

Gary's career began as an audio enthusiast working as a consultant for a high-end audio retailer. His experience and success lead him to the position of Director of Training for The Federated Group, a major consumer electronics retailer, a position he held for 15 years. Following his retail experience, Gary was appointed National Training Manager for Yamaha Electronics, a position he held until 2003 when he decided to pursue his desire to write about one of his passions: music and audio. Gary is a freelance writer with many of the audio and home theater enthusiast magazines and also writes technical publications for various manufacturers about audio technologies.

Gary's education is in Business Administration combined with the communications skills he acquired during his career in the consumer electronics industry.

As a Guide for the Stereos site, I look forward to providing meaningful, relevant content as well as interacting with you and writing about one of my passions - AUDIO. My career began as a hobbyist, and there is hardly anything I enjoy more than listening to music, all kinds of music, on a good audio system and I am sure you feel the same. My goal is to pass along some of what I know about Stereo and Surround Sound systems, help you with your audio questions and learn some new things along the way. Welcome aboard!
