Line Source Speakers

Definition: A Line Source speaker is usually a ribbon or planar magnetic type speaker that consists of a thin membrane or diaphragm sandwiched between two powerful magnets. A line source speaker radiates sound as a vertical bar, which can reduce unwanted reflections from wall, ceilings and other surfaces in the room.
Electrostatic, ribbon and planar magnetic speakers are examples of line source speakers.
