Overview: Roomcaster Wireless Speaker Technology:
Radiient Technologies has introduced its Roomcaster wireless network system that uses UWB (Ultra Wideband) technology that enables fully wireless connection of stereo and surround sound speakers. The Roomcaster system means you can enjoy surround sound without hassling with running wires to multiple speakers and they do not require AC power. According to Radiient, the use of UWB, which operates in the 3 to 10 GHz (gigahertz) range is said to make the system immune to signal disruptions and dropouts caused by cordless phones, microwave ovens and Wi-Fi devices.Roomcaster Features:
The Roomcaster system can be built into new speakers or used with existing speakers, which means you can retrofit your existing speakers with Roomcaster and eliminate the clutter of wires going to each speaker. Unlike other wireless systems, which require that the wireless module be plugged into the wall, Roomcaster uses lithium-ion rechargeable batteries
(like a laptop computer) which last about 20 hours before requiring recharging. It also requires no configuration - just put the speaker in place and the system automatically configures itself.Wide Bandwidth Operation:
Roomcaster delivers a 96kHz signal to each speaker for 7.1 channel home theater (or 192kHz), ensuring the highest quality audio experience. According to Radiient, the system is also scalable, meaning that even better wireless audio performance is possible as technology grows. I hope to review the system soon and if it performs well, Roomcaster could be a revolution in stereo and home theater speaker systems.
