It's not necessary to spend thousands of dollars on stereo speakers to get good sound quality. These bookshelf speakers offer excellent performance at an affordable price. They can be placed on a shelf but for the best sound they should be set on speaker stands.
Paradigm Titan Monitor V6 Bookshelf Speakers
I may be slightly biased, but my first reaction when listening to the Paradigm Titan V.6 Monitor Series speakers was Paradigm has produced another winner. I say slightly biased because I own Paradigm Reference Studio 100 v.2 tower speakers as one of my reference speaker systems. The Titan Monitors are an outstanding value. Their full bass response, open midrange and detailed high frequency characteristics are an impressive accomplishment for $298 apiece.
B & W 685 Bookshelf Speakers
Bowers & Wilkins, or B & W as they are commonly known, is a widely respected British speaker manufacturer that has been making reference quality loudspeakers since the 1960s. B & W speakers are appreciated for their sound quality as much as their unique, ultra modern designs and are found in recording studios as well as homes. The B & W 685 bookshelf speakers make a great choice for a moderately priced home theater system, a bedroom or apartment stereo system or as surround sound speakers. They're easy on the ears, and have a very balanced sound quality.
Infinity Classia C205 Bookshelf Speakers
Infinity, long known for its stylish speakers has introduced the Classia series of loudspeakers including the C205 bookshelf speakers, the smallest in the series. The speakers have an avant-garde appearance that befits a contemporary setting or room décor. The cabinets feature a blend of gloss black with silver trim and an angled top that faces forward. Its rounded edges and corners tone down the typical hard, boxy look of many speakers. They are also available in a Cherry finish with real wood veneers. Overall the Infinity C205 speakers are very balanced sounding and easy to listen to. The combination of warm bass, clean midrange, detailed highs and an affordable price of $698 per pair make them a winner in my opinion.
Monitor Audio BR-2 Bookshelf Speakers
The Monitor Audio BR2 is a fine loudspeaker and an outstanding value. Priced at $399 per pair, they offer excellent performance, construction quality and would make a great speaker for a small to medium sized stereo or home theater system. Good things do come in small packages and the BR2 would be a smart choice for a stereo system priced below $1,000 when combined with a mid-priced receiver or amplifier.
